Hodgin

I only went to Hodgin for 5th & 6th grade. 5th grade was hell as I was the "new kid" and Mrs. Bradshaw was scary. 6th was much better - Mrs. Huertas was great. Mrs. Angel was the Principal and VERY scary. Her whistle used to hurt my ears.

Hodgin

I started first grade at Hodgin in 1958. Good school, good teachers. Mrs. Angel was great.
The only teacher that ruined it for me was my 2nd grade teacher Ms. Campbell. Terrible teacher, always talked down to me.

Hodgin is turning 60, not 50.

I am 62 and lived on San Andres, the street that runs into Hodgin. I started first grade at Hodgin in 1963. My older brothers started in 62 and 61. It was a great school.Good memories.

Hodgin

I didn't have a good time in school at Hodgin. I was bullied most of the time. The only happy memories I had was my 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Oden, 3rd Grade Teacher Mrs. Day, and my 6th Grade Teacher Ms. Langlois. They always took care and stood up for me.

My other memory was my friend I grew up with. He is gone now to be with God. But I loved him from the time he was 5 until he was 26.

Hodgin

Wow Hodgin is turning 50. Must have been a pretty new school when I started there then. I must have started there in 66 or so. I can still remember the principle (Mrs./Ms. Angel). Did love that school, I worked in the cafeteria - don't remember if that was to pay for my lunch or not :) Hated my 4th grade Math teacher though - was not good in math(& still not), but she would make fun of me in front of other students. Goes to show that teachers have a big impact on how well students can do throughout their complete education. We did do spelling bee's and I always did pretty good in those. I do work in the education field now and do see the difference between good teachers that care and the ones that don't. Hopefully Hodgin has turned out some professional people because it all starts in elementary school and the basics.

Hodgin is turning 50!

Hodgin needs former "graduates" to come speak in early Oct. about their experiences at Hodgin as well as their current careers. Please contact Michelle at goofywon@comcast.net if you can help
