Hard to believe that one year from now we will be celebrating our 50th Reunion. Several of us met last night and we have a plan for next year. The Settler's Parade and picnic will be held on July 27th, 2019. Let's plan to meet on Friday, July 26th, 5:00 pm at the Deer Park Eagles. They have a wonderful patio or air conditioned area for us to connect and visit. On Saturday, we will all be riding on a float in the Settler's Parade and then gather at the park after the parade. At 2:00, we will head up to the Divots Patio at the Deer Park Golf Course for lunch together. So save the date and check for more details in 2019. Have a great summer
The class Reunion for the Class of 1969 is only a few months away. We have class members working on a variety of projects to make our event a great one! Jackie Dingus Smith is putting together a Reunion Booklet for all of us to enjoy. She needs each of us to take a few minutes and email or mail her a paragraph or two with information you would share about yourself, your family, travels, hobbies, etc. She would also like to include a recent picture of you by yourself or with friends or family on the information page. The reunion's evening event will be at the pavilion at the Deer Park RV Park at the golf course. Bill Weger was able to reserve three RV spots in addition to what each of you may have already reserved. I think that two of them were snapped up immediately, but as far as I know, one is still available. To reserve, call the RV Park at 509 276 1555 and ask for one of the spots that Bill has reserved.
Our evening event will be in the pavilion at the RV Park. Start time of this event is TBD.
Bill will be cooking for us and will provide the main course as well as salads, etc. If you would like alcoholic beverages, feel free to bring them, as well as glasses if you need them (fellow wine drinkers!) The cost for this event is $25 per person.
We will have an entry in the parade. Bob Bushnell will provide the trailer to act as our float and the vehicle to pull it. We will decorate minimally. As I understand, the parade assembles at the airport. We will provide more details on meeting times, etc. as the day approaches.
Can come for appetizers at the Golf Course's Divot's Bar & Grill, then can order meal there or go elsewhere to eat main meal. Very informal but a chance to get together at what could be the last major reunion. 50 years where did the time go, so hope you will take this last chance to come & see those of us who will attend.
The Class of 1969 will meet in the park following the Settler's Parade Around 1:30, we will all meet at Steve & Lindsey Hughes for a barbeque and gathering. If you are in the area Friday night (July 25th) , several of us plan to gather for dinner at the Deer Park Eagles around 5:00 p.m. If you are planning to attend the Settler's Parade, join us in front of the Lauer Funeral Home.
