Frank Schlangen
Class of 1964
Navy, 12 Years
Served in West Pacific Fleet Amphibs in Viet Nam then returned to CA to attend nuclear power school. Served as a staff instructor at the S5G nuclear prototype in Idaho. Made four deterent patrols aboard USS George Washington prior to putting the submarine through a complete shipyard refueling overhaul.
Served another tour as an instructor at the A1W nuclear prototype at Ballston Spa, NY. While in this billet, Frank was selected to serve as a Warrant Officer and was transferred to the Naval Reactors Division of the US ERDA at Electric Boat shipyard at Groton, CT where he served as a technical assistant to the Naval Reactors Representative.

As an officer I served in the Infantry, Special Forces Green Beret, Military Police and retired as a Colonel after 30 years Service.
