Dick Bosworth
Class of 1965
Army, 20+ Years
Did not graduate with class. Entered military service in July of 1965. Served two tours in Vietnam as combat medic. Army Commendation Medal with V device for heroism under enemy fire, Air Medal with V device for heroism while participating in flight under enemy fire and 9 subsequent Air Medals. Commissioned Warrant Officer aviator in 1970. Served the next 18 years in worldwide assignments including Europe, Africa, Korea, and Iran. Last assignment was as evaluator for worldwide attack helicopter units for the Department of the Army Deputy Chief of Staff Operations.

Robert Baronas

Coast Guard, 20+ Years
Served 28 years in US Coast Guard. Started as Electronics Technician and received Warrant Officer commission in 2000. Appointed Lieutenant in 2003 and promoted to Lieutenant Commander in 2009. Tours on three ships, various east coast units, and Alaska brought great exposure to the larger world. A tour as a lighthouse keeper off the coast of Maine was the most unique off all assignments. Decorated many times for superior accomplishments including the Meritorious Service Medal, two Commendation Medals, two Achievement Medals, two Humanitarian Service Medals, and two National Defense Medals along with several team and unit awards.
Retired on December first 2011.

Our Athol High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Athol High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
