I was a Navy WAVE during WW11. I joined because my fiancé was killed serving as a Naval Air Corps pilot. I served mostly on the East Coast. I was stationed at the Bethesda Hospital in Bethesda MD twice. Once when FDR came for a physical. I was a laboratory technician in the Hospital Corps, so I saw him. Another tour of duty was at lighter than air (blimp) station in South Weymouth, MA. I also served at the Naval Hospital in Newport, RI. My final station was at the Chelsea Hospital in Chelsea, MA. It is no more. I considered my time in the service a very valuable experience.
