E-9 Master Gunnery Sergeant retired with total of 30 years service. Tours of duty in Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Served as Commanding General's Inspector for 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. Semper Fi

Class of 1983
Marine Corps, 4 Years
Okinawa, Philippines, Honduras, Camp Pendelton
Armorer 4/1988 to 4/1992
Repaired firearms to OEM specifications, using handtools and
Manuals.
Executed daily operations of Armory during Desert Storm.
Was instrumental in Armory personnel receiving a Certificate of
Commendation for a FSMAO 2 inspection during the time period of
Desert Storm.
Trained and managed 1000 Marines in weapons maintenance and
achieved significant improvements in their productivity and range
accuracy.
Trained subordinates in armory operations.
Supervised and managed weapons during the Gulf War for reservist
deploying to theater.
Successfully managed a 3-person team operating a heavily utilized
Armory during Desert Storm.
Fired firearms to determine correct alignment and assembly of
pieces.
Successfully handled and repaired and trained on the M16A2, M249,
M1911, M240, M1, M2, M249, M242, M60, MK19, MP5, M82,
M40A1, M92, Remington 870, and associated night vision devices.
While at School of Infantry and assigned to the LAV/AT4 Armory
section I was instrumental in testing and repairing 40 M242 Chain
guns and 100 M240 Machine guns to include helping to get the
chrome lined barrels implemented in the M242 and a feed jam issue
in the M240 resolved.
Was part of the team involved in rolling out the M240 as a M60
replacement but exited service before completion.
Security trained for Armory security.
Maintained records and manuals and parts ordering for a Battalion
Armory.
Deployed to Honduras with 1st Force Recon and Seal Team Six.

Zachary Ryan Parkman
Class of 1995
Army, 8 Years
Zach Parkman served as an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from July 2001 - January 2006. While attached to B Co./844th ENGR BN (CMBT HVY) he and his fellow soldiers were stationed in Northern Kuwait and Southern Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was promoted to the rank of SGT and was honoragly discharged from actve duty in 2006. He is on IRR status until 2009.

Our Angleton High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Angleton High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Angleton are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
