He reported to Recruit Training Command, Naval Training Center Orlando, FL in March 1986. He went on to Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton/ New London CT, and was accepted to the Naval School of Health Sciences in Great Lakes, IL in February 1998 after receiving his Submarine Warfare pin.

He served aboard the USS Dallas SSN 700 from 1986-1988, and upon Graduation from Corpsman “A” School served at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA.
He went on to serve as the Junior corpsman aboard the USS MacDonough DDG-39 from 1989-1991 serving during Operation Desert Storm / Desert Shield , USS Tripoli LPH-10 from 1991-1994 serving during Operation Restore Hope (Somalia), Naval School of Health Sciences, San Diego, CA from 1994-1996. He transferred to the Naval Reserve and was assigned to the USS Kitty Hawk Reserve Unit from 1996-1999, NR CVNE 1082 from 1999-2000, to his finial Unit NR NH Pensacola Detachment C ( unit merged due to BRAC) became Operation Health Support Unit from 2000 – Present where he served as Training Petty Officer, Command Career Counselor, Leading Petty Officer and assistant Senior Enlisted Advisor, in the absence of the Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Deployed WestPAC '92 with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit Special Operations Capable (MEUSOC) on the USS Duluth LPD-6 with a 5-ship Amphibious Ready Group (ARG).
