Oct Mins. for Reunion 1970 Class Reunion Minutes 10/17/2009 Attendees: Cindy Dougherty; Lowie Evans-Parker; Betty Joy Williams-Ballard; Jackie Duckett-Henry; Floyd Tate; Sharon Weldon-Jackson; Sylvia Warner; Sandy Egner-Loften Discussion: · There are 178 folks to date that we have not been able to contact. · To date, we have ...90 classmates that are interested. · Possible places to hold event: o Marjeane Caterers – 20.00 for buffet for 4 hours; $3.50 per person for each additional hour. o Cedarbrook Country Club: still researching o Holiday Inn in Ft. This will give folks the option of purchasing a copy for keepsake. If any money is left over, we can purchase disposable cameras to place on tables. Decorations: This committee is responsible for decorating the facilities and researching mementos for the classmates · Sandy Eger-Loften – Chairperson (Luckykid66@comcast.net) · Angela Talese-Paone (215-643-3686) · Betty Joy Williams-Ballard (bboop142@comcast.net) Entertainment: This committee responsible for finding a good DJ · Eva Ferro (215-822-8388) Deceased Classmates Tribute: This committee is responsible for putting together a tribute for our deceased classmates · Sandy Leisey-Brown/ Chairperson (Sandy-brown@austin.rr.com) Recordkeeping: This committee responsible for overseeing the finances Registration and Name tags: This committee responsible for sitting at the table to greet folks when they arrive and distributing the name tags Alumni Committee: This committee is responsible for checking with the school to see if high school and or Votech (North Montco) students can assist with graphic printing, photographer and videographer. Check with school to see if they can get copies of the yearbook and the cost. Check with school for list of our teachers. Gwen Wood-Jiles/ Chairperson (gcat11@verizon.net) Donations: This committee is responsible for reaching out to local businesses for donations. Momentos: This committee is responsible for putting together a booklet containing classmates synopsis of what they did over the last 40 years; give out prizes if we are able to get donations fron local businesses and possibly give out awards for significant achievements. Reunion Booklet Prizes/awards Next steps: · Floyd, Sylvia and Cindy will continue to check on banquet/lodging facilities to hold the event. They will also obtain rates for Friday and Saturday. · Continue to research for classmates that we cannot reach. There are 178 names on this list. Lowie will send this list out for your review. · Sharon will contact the local papers to run another bulletin announcing the upcoming 1970 class reunion. · Establish a ticket price. Factor in the facility, entertainment, printing, decorations, mementos, reunion booklet, name tags, postage. · Formal vs. informal event · Consider an informal event on a Friday, if the main event is held on Saturday. · Finalize the list of interested classmates. · Next Meeting; · Saturday, December 12th at 2:00pm.
