About Event

Class of 1989 Meeting Minutes July 12, 2008 I. Call to order: 4:15 pm : Opening Prayer II. Members Present: Michelle Patrick, Amy Terry, Tanyia Jones, Terry Jennings, Melissa West, AD Ward, and Lydia Fuller. III. Old Business • School Dance Function- Amy Terry stated that she and Robert Johnson continue to work toward having this event as a fundraiser for the class of 1989. The plan includes having a Middle School Wide function to be held at Addison Middle School. Details of the function continue to need to be worked out. More information will be provided at the next meeting. • Tentative Date for the Class Reunion: Amy Terry, provided financial information from three prospective hotels: Holiday Inn (Tanglewood), Hotel Roanoke, and Wyndam Hotel (temporarily name Roanoke Hotel Plaza). Based on the financial figures provided, it was decided and voted upon that the Class Reunion will likely be held at Wyndam Hotel (next year will be called Sheraton) during the weekend of June 26-28th of 2009. A $500.00 deposit will need to be made to confirm this date and event!!!! • Class Dues: Class members need to send in dues. Class Dues will need to be sent in prior to the event in order to help pay for the reunion. A return receipt will be sent to you. Your dues will go toward the cost of the event. Dues can be sent to Class of 1989 PO Box 13342 Roanoke VA 24033 • Data Collection: Class Members we need help locating your class members. If you have any class member information, it can be forwarded to Lydia Fuller at lydiafuller@msn.com and or Amy Terry at agirt@allstate.com This is essential in making sure our event is a success and that as many class mates as possible are informed of this exciting event. IV. New Business • Fundraisers: Class of 1989 T-shirts- Get your t-shirts now for our class reunion. The t-shirts will be sold for a total of $20.00 and a percentage will go the class, after paying the cost of the t-shirt. For more information contact Melissa West at mwest@depaulfamilyservices.org T-shirt information will also be sent out to all class members along with a return order form. Class members are asked to wear the t-shirt during the picnic event on July 27th, 2009. • Treasure’s Report: See Attachment for details related to the class account • Class of 1989 Website: Class Members are encouraged to post information on this website. This website also provides updates about upcoming events sponsored by the class committee. • Website is www.wmfleming1989.myevent.com Questions and comments regarding the website can be forwarded to Amy Terry at agirt@allstate.com IV. Meeting adjourned at 6:15pm Next meeting will be held on August 2, 2008 from 4:00-6:00pm at Thelma’s at 526 Orange Ave. N.E. Updates to the minutes: T-shirt Fundraiser- Information has been sent out via email to classmates regarding the t-shirts from class member Melissa Young West. Questions pertaining to the t-shirt should be forward to Melissa West via email. Wyndam Hotel- Amy Terry and Tanyia Jones, met with Wyndam Hotel on 7/23/08. The date of the weekend of June 26-28th 2009 is tentatively being held. A deposit was not made, due to having to pay the hotel 75% of the total cost, once in a contract with them, if the event is cancelled. Plan for invitations to be sent out in January 2009, to confirm the count of members attending the event and after the count will pay the hotel the deposit. Classmates start preparing to come now, so that this event will be a success!!!! Car Wash Fundraiser- Another fundraiser is scheduled to be held on August 9th at Advance Auto on Melrose Ave. Roanoke Va. 24017, details will be sent out by Activities Coordinator Amy Terry, Watch for the details and plan to attend.
