Thomas Matthew Lee Teaster, son of Robin & Tommy Teaster (1982) was awarded Boy Scouts highest honor, The Eagle Scout. Thomas is a junior at Effingham County High School in Springfield, GA. For his main project Thomas raised money, organized and coordinated a work force that built two small wooden bridges (18 & 20 feet) and planted 107 shade trees to line the track and field team's running course. With the shade trees in place the track will be able to be used much more often. Heat is a problem down here from early spring through at least Halloween. Thomas also organized another 24 bushes which we installed and watered throughout the first year. A church service and ceremony were celebrated on Sunday April 15 at First Baptist Church in Springfield, GA. Thomas’s two brothers were in attendance as were 2 of his 3 sisters. Thomas’s brother-in-law, his oldest sister. and 2 nieces were in Arizona and were unable to attend as the brother-in-law is in the US Air Force. Parents, Robin and Thomas Teaster, said they were very pleased with their boy’s achievements and the turn out at the Church.
