Dear Class, Here are the details. First night will be Friday August 27 and second night on Saturday August 28. Due to overwhelming response the entire reunion will be casual. The Friday night mixer will be at Grissoms in West Fort Worth, and Saturday night will be at Los Vaqueros near the Stockyards in Fort Worth. The focus on the Friday night event is a low cost gathering where we will grill burgers and hot dogs, and have food we can get from Sam's or Costco in bulk at a good price. You can bring your own beer, or wine, no hard liquor please. The venue is mostly outdoors, but there are covered areas and inside space if the weather doesn't cooperate. Come Friday night to reconnect with old classmates and meet up them again the following night! Saturday night will also be casual, and the focus is on prepared food and drinks from an outdoor bar. Los Vaqueros is a huge place that can host several events at once. We reserved the "Garden Area" which is an outdoor space large enough for about 200 people to mix and mingle. We were told that if the weather turns bad we can move to the basement which is large enough to hold everyone comfortably. This place is nice, casual, and plenty spacious. The next step is for us to work out the pricing details for each night. We expect Friday night to be the lower cost of the two, but our Saturday night event will still be very reasonable. The focus of the committee was "bang for the buck", the ability for people to roam freely, in an environment where we didn't have to compete with loud music. This should be a nice venue to talk, and catch up with our classmates. More to come as pricing details are worked out, so stay tuned...
