Entered USCG Reserve 8/11/69 & was enlisted until 9/12/81 as Petty Officer 1st Class when I received my Direct Commission as Ensign. Retired 9/1/2011 at rank of Captain (O6). Last Active Duty assignment: USCG Atlantic Area Command, Portsmouth, VA (2010-11). Last Reserve assignment: Deputy Western Rivers Senior Reserve Officer, 8th Coast Guard District covering Sector Commands in Louisville, St. Louis & Memphis across 19 states (2008-2010).

David joined the Army Reserve before he graduated from Waggener and went to basic training in October of 1984. He also served in the KY and Ohio Air National Guard. In 2004, David joined the US Navy Reserve as a Master at Arms and served honorable in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Stay at home dad now. No regrets.

I joined the US Air Force in 1981 and have served 27 years so far. Just earned promotion to E-9 and looking forward to going back overseas again! Recenlty returned from deployment to Afganistan and Qatar and was in Japan right before that for three years. It's definately been an adventure!

Our Waggener High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done!
