| About Me | I ADVOCATE FOR MY SON!!! My name is Astrid Camille, I am a proud Mom to two beautiful boys. My oldest is Kai Michael, and he is 15 years old. He is BEAUTIFUL!! And a TRUE JOY!! My little Angel!!! Kai is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder/Intellectual Dissability, Hypotonia. He receives tons of therapies to help him with his challenges. Kai is curently in middle school (where did the time go) and he is doing wonderfully. Kai loves riding horses, and every Monday night he gets to ride his favorite horse, Shamrock. My youngest is Heath Michael, who is 13 years old. Not a baby anymore, WAAAAAAAAAAA!! He is my little MIRACLE. Born at 30 weeks and stayed in the NICU for 31 days and had major surgery to remove a mass in his lung at only 15 months old. You would never guess he has gone through so much as he is a typical 13 year old, very smart, active, and a spoiled brat. Heath is in Eight Grade and at school he is doing absolutely fantastic. Heath is in his 5th year in the North Hills School District GATE program and this post spring he was inducted into the National Jrs. Honor society. He loves BASEBALL and is a typical teenager. Heath and Kai get along perfectly!! They are the BEST BROTHERS!! As for me I am married to Michael for 19 years now. We live in Pittsburgh. I am a Stay at Home Mom for most of the time. I am also a Part Time Associate Manager at Build a Bear Workshop, where I worked for 14 years. My main goals right now are for my boys to be HAPPY, for Kai to get the services he needs and continue in an inclusive setting with support, for Heath to have a typical childhood and for me to keep sane. I'm also a runner with numerous 5ks, 10ks, 25ks races. I have completed 4 Full Marathons, 8 Half Marathons and 2 Ultra Marathons. This year my main goals are a 30...(read more) |
