Class of 1968 members! We are getting ready to celebrate our 50th Class Reunion.
We have set the date for Saturday, August 18th, 2018 for the reunion. The location we secured is the St. Bridget's Parish Hall, Scammon, KS. It will be catered by Chicken Annie's from Pittsburg. The price for the event will be $20 per person/$40 for a couple. This includes the price of the meal and beverage, as well as money to cover incidental expenses. We will order the food based on the amount of people that respond by July 1st. So please, please, send in your money so we will have an accurate head count for how much food will be needed. If you show up at the door, we won't turn you away, but not sure if there will be enough food.
Please send the money to Dan Oplotnik by July 1st (no later than July 8th), please. His address is 2260 S Hwy 69 - Columbus, KS 66725-9115. Since we don't have a bank account for the reunion - please make out checks to Dan.

Cost is $100 per couple or $60 per person. Additionally, Downstream is charging a 25% gratuity on their services so cost will likely increase unless we find someone willing to donate the difference. With the information available to establish a budget, we proposed a $30 fee for each individual attending the reunion. 5. Reunion letter with details At the next committee meeting, a letter will be prepared for mailing to classmates with the details and the cost to attend. It was decided the letter should be sent near the end of 2011 or early 2012 to allow adequate time for classmates to make plans for attending the reunion. 6. Saturday, September 15, 2012, was selected as the most favorable date. Saturday, September 22, 2012 was selected as an alternative date. Jerry, Sally, and Linda will contact Lamplighter Inn’s Function Coordinator, Cheryle Wilson, to reserve the banquet facilities, discuss cost, food & drink arrangements, and the availability of sound and projection equipment. We will contact the high school principal and request use of the school on Sunday morning for the remaining activities. 2. Music: In an effort to minimize cost and allow classmates to visit longer, the committee decided not to hire a band or DJ. There will be pre-recorded background music popular during the 1960's. 3. Additional correspondence regarding the reunion: Additional correspondence regarding the date, time, place, and cost will be prepared and mailed to class member during the summer of 2011. 4. Activities, favors, prizes: Numerous ideas were discussed about activities, favors, and prizes. These items will be discussed at a later meeting. 5. Scheduled next meeting: The next committee meeting was scheduled for July 9, 2011, at the home of Larry & Linda Coltrane.
