Arlene F. Greenfield
Arlene F. Greenfield Class of 1967
Army, 20+ Years
Col. Arlene Greenfield was commissioned in the WAC in August 1971 and graduated from WOBC later that year. She served as an AG (Adjutant General Corps officer) in the US and Germany in positions of increasing importance, as well as TDY all over the world. Among the highlights: three successful commands, AMC (Army Materiel Command) Inspector General, Army representative for the DACOWITS (Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Service), DOD representative to the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Women Veterans, and deputy director/acting director for the Human Resources Directorate, ODCSPER (now G-1). Her military schools included the Armed Forces Staff College and an Army fellowship at Harvard University. She retired as a colonel in 2001. Incredibly active in retirement, she traveled extensively, served on and was chair of Ohio University's Women in Philanthropy and OU Alumnae associations, a member of the Chief of Staff, Army Retiree Council, the Ft. Myer Military Community Retiree Council, the Army Women Veteran's Association of No. Virginia (aka: NV 33), and many other organizations. She was a regular volunteer at the Reagan Airport USO, a supporter and active participant at the Smithsonian Institution, a board member of the Army Women's Foundation, and a member of the WIMSA Leadership Council. She was both partner and co-founder of Qualitative Research Service Consultants, Inc.

4 years active duty - enlisted, 24 years reserve duty - both enlisted and now as an officer - activated for Desert Storm, Bosnia, Iraqi Freedom. Currently stationed at Charleston AFB, SC but hoping for a Squadron Commander position at MacDill in Tampa which is where I live. Last interesting job with USAF was when I took 37 folks to Balad, Iraq in 2005. We all made it home, but changed forever. My oldest daughter, Becky, was married in 2006 so here is a picture of us at the wedding.

Private F CO, 2ND BN, 27TH MARINES, 1ST MARINES DIVISION United States Marine Corps Mario F. De Mattio was born June 28, 1946 and lived in Kenvil, NJ. "Mickey", as he was known to his friends, graduated from Roxbury High School in 1964. He enjoyed baseball and football and was a member of both varsity teams. He served on the Student Council and was a member of the Nature Club. De Mattio's yearbook entry states: "Tall, flirtacious, good looking... spends much of his time creating fast-moving, loud-sounding cars... likes to talk about hunting and racing." Mickey enlisted in the US Marine Corps in May 1967 and attained the rank of Private (PVT). He arrived in Vietnam on February 14, 1968. Thirty-four days later, on March 17, 1968, Mario "Mickey" DeMattio was killed in action while on a search and destroy mission in Quang Nam, South Vietnam. Mickey’s name can be located on Panel 45E Line 015 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC
