I joined the active Army in 1973. I married a Marine!! It was next to impossible to keep tours in sync so I joined the Army Reserves. I retired in 2004.

US Army, 1967-1971. Infantry Company Commander in Vietnam. WIA in 1970. Medically retired in 1971. Retired as Executive Director of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in 2007.

Drafted in 1966 in Dallas, TX. Basic at Ft. Polk, LA. AIT at Ft Ord, CA. OCS at Ft. Gordon, GA. Commissioned 1967. Ft. Huachuca, AZ, Platoon Leader 557 Signal Company, 11th Signal Group 67-68. Vietnam OIC Vung Chua Mountain, Quin Nhon, 1st Signal Brigade 68-69. Germany, Systems Control Officer (SYSCON), 7th Signal Brigade. Company Commander B Company, 26th Signal Battalion (Heilbron) 69-72. Ft. Gordon, GA, Signal Officer Advanced Course 72-73. Left the Army after Vietnam was over and returned to civilian life in Tucson. Enjoyed every minute of being in the ARMY.

Served 20 years in the Army as a Military Police Officer. I was stationed in Virgina, Japan, Germany, Alabama, South Carolina, Missouri Korea, Colorado. During my various assignments I was assigned to Joint Task Force Olympics in support of the 1996 Olympics. In 2001, I was deployed to Honduras in support of Joint Task Force Bravo, while deployed there 9/11 occured. In 2002, I was deployed to Camp Doha, Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2004 I deployed to Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. My deployment to Iraq was my most rewarding time in the Army because I was able to come back with all the Soldiers I took with me. In 2007 I retired after 20 years.

US army 82 Airborne 1972 to 1978 I started out as a airborne infantryman, then the CO.s RTO. I tried out for the golden knights and ended up jumping withe the 82 Airborne parachute team. I really got to see the world and met my wife while she was visiting her sister at Ft. Bragg. We got married in 1975 and finally ended up at Fort Bliss Texas. I got out of the service on my birthday in 1978 and relocated in Milwaukee WI.

Airframes/Hydraulicsman for the CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter. Aerial Gunner/Observer, CDI/QAR for the CH-46. Currently a CNATT instructor teaching fleet Marines how to perform structural repairs, as well as repairs to the hydraulic systems for the CH-46.
