About Me | Yes, this is my life in short form..... From an early age my cousin and I spent a lot of time together, as our mothers were sisters and we visited often. We did coloring, drawing, dancing and a lot of stuff young kids do. This started my / our art talents, and as we grew up we learned to dance all the 1950's and 60's steps, taught by her older sister. However, my art talents developed into a Graphic Design Degree in 2005. All through school from grade one in Art I never received a "C" always "A's and B's" and not very many "B's". As far as dancing, every year there'd be a fest' somewhere, I've danced with the King of the Polka's. I love "Big Bands" but, they're fading out around here. We just had a Class Reunion, and I swear I lost about twenty pounds dancing the night away. Great time!....GO HODAGS!. Now, back to the Computer... I suppose I could add that in 1964 & 1965 I went on a High School trip to the New York World's Fair, and brought home a lot of pictures, and a few games I picked up. Also I was in California for a short time but, it's a long story. When my son turned eighteen, for his birthday we drove to Ill. with only a credit card in my pocket. I took him to see his own Father for the very first time. His father paid for breakfast, and gave us gas money to go back home on - very nice guy. Something I'll never forget. Hey, "Dad" (Roy's dad) if you're reading this....Thanks for the time spent, it was worth it. :) These were the only trips I've taken out of Rhinelander, other than the Minneapolis Shoping Mall. My Son's father just passed away, September 20th,2011, Patrick Tipton Gilley, at the age of 70. > I lately added my little blonde haird Daughter, she lived only one year and six days. She became ill with meningitis and passed away November 24, 1970, six days after her first birthday. ( No husbands I had ever adopted either of them, they both remained a Rasmussen.) My Daughter's father's parents lived in Three Lakes, WI. and he was up here from Green Bay for awhile.....Of course that's a long story also. There just seems to be a lot of talk and I'd like to straighten it out. Thanks for reading. All I wanted in life was a house, a home and a loving family. But, I was jerked different ways in life and had no choice but to follow. My home life growing up was quiet, no yelling, no swearing, Mom was always home, and Dad always came home from work on time. When Dad passed on things really changed, I know my Dad would have had other views to my growing up, than my Mom did. Earlier he insisted for me not to wear Lipstick or nail polish. He had good morals, and I kept that. First marriage: he was in the Navy, and wasn't here much. After being alone for two years we divorced. Second marriage: was total hell ! Beatings every weekend (jaw knocked completly out, broken nose, black&blue bloody eyelids, bruised body) and kept in a trailer court, not even able to see my mother even. Phone always pulled out of the wall. Among other things. Never a dirty house, dishes always done, and laundry, basicly a clean house, he had no reason to beat on me. One beating he left the house and I went to the Landlords house to call the Police Station - you can't guess what they said... Here I'm standing there on the phone with two little kids at my side one 3 and one not quite 1yr. I had blood coming out of my nose and a bruised face, I begged for help of anykind they could give me, BUT! they said, ""I'm sorry you're married and there is nothing we can do."" I said send any one or any thing to sign, I need help. I was standing in blood and tears with two little kids. (Son still remembers these days, Daughter passed away) Life is so unfair. However, I tried to get divorces with him, he'd threaten me each time with guns and knives. the third time - I thought I don't want to die with his last name, so after so many trys, including having all the windows and doors with hooks and locks a friend of my mother's put on for my protection, I finally got out of there (somehow) and got my maiden name back. And bought a little house for me and my Son. Got a job at Twist Drill and stayed there for 29 yrs. Joined the VFW Ladies Aux. And later Graduated with a Graphic Design in 2005. Then when he died, his family placed in the OBITUARIES in the Rhinelander paper as my Son being his, MY SON WAS NEVER HIS ! he had also hit my son when he was 3 years old and gave him a bloody lip for asking to go to the bathroom instead of just going in there. He was only three and seen me beaten so many times he was affriad of him. When I got my divorce I would not give him the satisfaction of my eyeballs on him, I never looked his way nohow. The Judge (Judge Kenny) told him not to be in the same building as me. If he knows I'm in the building HE LEAVES. He was never charged with anything for the beatings, and the captivity he kept me in, nor hitting my three-year-old. (Thank you to all my peers out there, hope you have a great life. I will never forget) I had never lived in this type of surroundings before in my life. My family never even swore. Third marriage: we just disagreed and divorced. He was ok, but he had other things to do, and it wasn't me. I finely sold that little house I bought, I couldn't afford it any longer. (My Mom and my Daughter were both born in November and passed on in November. I used to like these Holidays, but they only bring back memories and tears to my eyes. Not to mention my Dad passed the previous month - October 2, 1961) > "Dear Lord, > All I ask for in 2016 is a big fat Bank Account and a slim body..... > Please don't mix these...(read more) |
