Assigned to 15th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, Air Defense Command, Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ; then 15th FIS, Det #1, ADC, Williams AFB, Chandler, AZ; then 414th Fighter-Group, 437th FIS, ADC, Oxnard AFB, CA; and last 437th FIS, Det #1, Naval Air Station (NAS) El Centro, CA. With all these units came the awesome F-101-B VOODOO,

Retired Avaition Electronics Technician Chief, served in first and second gulf war incl. Afghanistan. Served on board every east coast aircraft carrier and completed 3 overseas tours. Some of my job titles included Avionics Division Officer, Quality Assurance Officer and finished my tour as Security Manager. Had a great enlistment and several tours of station and lots of travel.

I was a First Sergeant (1SG) and has served as a Combat Basic Training Instructor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fort Lewis, Washington and Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania in the United States Army Reserves from 1990-2005.I left coaching, joined the Army and I won three Fort Riley, Kansas and three U.S. 1st Infantry Division Championships. I was selected to the All-Army National Wrestling Team in 1983. In 1984 I competed in the US Olympic Trials in Greco-Roman Wrestling.

Staff Sergeant John Quarello of the United States Air Force recently marked eight years of active duty service. Sergeant Quarello is a long-time Burbank resident and 2002 Reavis High School graduate. He is currently stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany as an A-10 Thunderbolt Crew Chief. Sergeant Quarello spent five months over the summer deployed to Kandahar Air Base, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Sergeant Quarello's family is anxiously awaiting a visit from him in time to celebrate Christmas with him for the first time since he enlisted.
