In Memorial... Death News for Class of 1939

Class Members of the Class of 1939 PHS, sad news to report the passing of My Mother, Genevieve Roberta Holzbauer O'Connell, Class of 1939, widow of the late John G. O'Connell, Jr. Notre Dame Class of 1944. Genevieve Roberta Holzbauer was born in Leiters Ford, Fulton County, on 13 October 1920, daughter of the late Joseph James Holzbauer and Mabel Gladys Troutman Holzbauer. She grew up in Plymouth, Indiana, married on 3 June 1944, in Gulfport, Mississippi, raised 8 children, 5 brothers and 3 sisters, was Grandmother to 17 children, and 23 great-grandchildren. Her spouse, John G. O'Connell, Jr., died in May 2002, a daughter, Maureen in 1999, and a son, Thomas in March 2016. Genevieve Holzbauer O'Connell passed away on Wednesday, 7 November 2018, at the NHC Center in Mauldin, S. C., she was 98-years, 1 month, 2 days old. Private funeral in Simpsonville, S.
