Mandarin Chinese linguist in intelligence-gathering branch of the Air Force, called Security Service (USAFSS) back in the day. Command has changed names several times over the years. Spent nearly two of my eight years of service at Yale University learning the language, then more time at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX for more specialized and classified training, prior to serving tours at Onna Point, Okinawa, Shu Lin K'ou Air Station, Taiwan, and Danang, Vietnam and Kelly AFB, TX. Took away 51 semester hours in Chinese from Yale, then went on for a BA at Syracuse U. after discharge from the service.
