Class of 1964
drafted bu rather be drafted, I enlisted in the Navy, but my poor eye sight kept me out. A month later I was drafted, but my eye sight kept out. So I taught public high school for 30 years.. During that time I built a 42 foot, 9 ton displacement ferro cement sailboat. got married too and in '84 the boat was done and launched in the Hudson River My family moved aboard
I had a baby girl by then. 17 years later we sailed the bout to the Chincoteage Bay and stayed aboard till we were able to buy house in Greenbackville Virginia. Took a teaching across the border in Maryland. Time caught with me and 30 years had passed and I retired. My wife died too early in live from cancer. But my daughter was grown by then an was a great comfort.
I wanted something to do and also make money, so I started an oyster farm, later acquired a partner, remarried , had a house built, served on a state commission and still going. Play a banjo and sing in my church choir.
