C. R. (Chuck) Smith Class of 1947
Navy, 3 Years Served in the Pacific aboard the USS Frank Knox, DDR-742, in the gunnery dept.
Douglas D. Skaggs Class of 1960
Air Force, 5 Years Most of Doug's first hitch after basic was served in Greece. Doug's last job was working as a mechanic on the flight line @ Shaw AFB Sumter South Carolina. However, in 1963 while working in Biloxi MS he was exposed to a massive radiation leak. This showed up in the fall of '65 as Acute leukemia. He died at Andrews AFB hospital, Feb 22, 1966. He left a widow, and 8 mo old baby girl.
Fred Inboden Class of 1952
Army, 3 Years Fred went in during the Korean Conflict. He passed away in 1996. He was a tough football player and the best brother int he world.
George Inboen Class of 1948
Army, 2 Years George was in the Army and served his country.
Ira Inboden Class of 1957
Air Force, 2 Years Ira was in the Air Force. He quit school and went into the Service to his Country. He would have graduated in 1957.
J. Phhillip Skaggs Class of 1966
Air Force, 4 Years Phil trained in electronics in the Air Force and served 4 years. Many of these years were in New Zealand where he still lives with his wife and family.
Jacob Griffin Class of 2001
Air Force, 10 Years Currently serving on active duty.
Max Inboden Class of 1953
Army, 4 Years Max did not graduate but he did attend Oblong High. He was in Germany in the Army most of his years in the Service to his country.
Michael D Bailey Class of 1966
Army, 2 Years Battalion Personnel Specialist 19th Aviation Battalion United States Army, Alaska (USARAL) Fort Richardson, AK (Anchorage)
William Arden Meyers Class of 1947
Army, 1 Years Bill was in the 35th. Inf., 25th. Div. He was killed in action in Korea, September, 1951. He is buried with his parents in the Oblong cemetery
