Originaly joined for college money, became an infantry grunt. Then went on to become a Drill Sgt. Later spent five years as a recruiter, then spent last ten years in Special Ops as a PSYOP specialist with tours of duty in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Iraq.

John served as a Russsian interpreter for the USMC for much of the time he served. He served in Somalia, Liberia, Desert Shield/Storm and various deployments around the globe.

Joined in 1987, served in Oregon as a transportation unit, did two weeks in Korea on annual training. Moved to Fairbanks as a APC driver, called to active duty for first gulf war spent two weeks before being sent back home, unit was deactivated when I returned, moved to anchorage with a Light Infantry unit. In 94, volunteered to serve with the 82nd and go to Egypt to “keep the peace” mission between Egypt and Israel. Was stationed in South Sinai for 6 months. Returned state side and moved to Virginia where I still live. I am a disabled veteran that is not service connected. The Good Lord was watching over me the day I was hit, run over and drug by a 40k dump truck while I was working for VDOT

Joined in '87, stationed in Salem Or., then to Fairbanks Ak., then to Anchorage, volunteered to go to Egypt with the 82nd AB. came back to the states and moved to Virginia to be with the 29th Inf. My original MOS (military Occupational Skill), then went to Infantry school. In '92 I spent 2 months in the gulf war and was sent home cause the war was over

Served during the Cold War as one of Alaska's Scouts from B-5-297INF (Scout); with the Joint Counter Narcotics Task Force Arizona during the late '80's and early '90's. Desert Shield/Storm in 90-91 as part of the 89th MP BDE. Served as part of the 10th MTN DIV in Afghanistan for OEF V-VII. Units of assignment have been AKARNG, AZARNG, ORARNG, KYARNG, IRR, IMA and USAR. Currently serving as the OPS Sergeant for the 940th MP Co, Walton, KY KYARNG.
