Sandy served in the Navy from 1975-1981. He completed bootcamp, submarine school and electronics school. He served as a Navigation Electronics Technician on the USS James Monroe Ballistic Submarine from 1977-1981 during the Cold War.

In Air Force for 4 years then enlisted in Air Force Reserves where I served an additional 19 years. Retired in 1995. Retired 30 years federal service at Tinker AFB. Oklahoma.
Stanley Baggett

Navy, 20+ Years
Joined up as a seaman recruit in 1968 and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in 1996. I served on two Destroyers, two Fast Frigates, and one Air Craft carrier I did have shore duty as an instructor twice and Combat Systems Officer. My specialty was Surface Weapons and Ordnance as an officer and as enlisted I was a Gunner's Mate Guns. I Did three tours in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf (1) I had a good time while I was in. My favorite saying even today is "If you can't stand the sound of the BIG GUNS...get off the main deck"

I joined the U.S.Navy in 1967 as a seaman recruit possessing a high school education and retired in 1996 as a commander pursuing a PhD. My entire career was in naval aviation, where I served on (6) aircraft carriers and numerous shore commands. If allowed I would do it again in a heart beat. It was a wonderful career.
