Glenn Cannon

Class of 1976

I was lucky enough to play on the freshman football team in1972 with Glenn. He and I were on the receiving side of the kick off from Oak Grove. I had the option to take a few steps back to make the catch or let Glenn run ten yards up from behind me. I yelled "Take it Glenn!" He caught the kick off on our 90 yard line and caught up to me about the time I got up to full speed and flattened a offensive opponent. Glenn jumped over me and the guy I blocked and ran the ball in for a touchdown! It was the play I go back to when I need something to remind me of the glorious magic of youth. I moved to Boulder Creek the next Fall. Glenn went on to make plays like that common place for Mt. Pleasant football teams. He was and still is to this day the person I know who's closest to being a super hero in my book. Thank you Glenn and the rest of 1972 freshman team for the awesome memories. Thank you Mt. Pleasant for your great athletic programs.
