About Event

Dear Classmates,

July will be here before know it. So far, we have approximately 40 confirmed reservations. If you haven't let us know you are coming, please contact us. Contact information is at the end of the letter.

Here is a tentative schedule of what will be happening:

MONDAY

7:00 a.m. - Hontz hall opens. Donuts and coffee available. At 8:00 a.m. John McPherson will conduct a run/walk down the Cardinal Greenway for any who are available to go. We will visit at the Hall after the walk and spend some time catching up with those who are there.

Some time before lunch a group will visit Larry Leming. He is confined to his home and will be unable to attend. Several men visited him when we had our 50th reunion.

LUNCH - Jim and Jimmy will be cooking hot dogs at the Park. (We have already alerted the Fire Department.)

AFTERNOON - The Thompson/Ray House will be open for touring. For you out-of-towners, this is the house that Mayor Bob Ray lived in for years. It has been beautifully restored and is now used for parties/weddings, etc.

SUPPER - It is SUPPER in Indiana! Tenderloins!!!! Baked beans, corn on the cob. Good ole' Indiana food!!

Mike Lucas will entertain us. (If he is good enough to play for Johnny Mathis - we will take him!)

At this time, we will also remember the classmates who have left us.

TUESDAY

7:00 a.m. - Hontz Hall opens. Donuts and coffee available. We will have a historical discussion of Gas City and Jonesboro in the 1950's. Take a walk down Memory Lane with us. Dory Githens Miller is our resident historian and she will be there to answer questions.

We will also catch up with what has been happening in the past 55 years in the lives of our classmates. I love what Rose Bennett Hanson wrote on her questionnaire when asked what might surprise her classmates about her. She said, "No longer a timid mouse! Yeah! Involved in many ....activities." Bob Wright is compiling the information on the questionnaires so we can have a good idea of where everyone is.

LUNCH - You will be on your own, but many plan to meet and eat at Jackie's Restaurant where our local classmates meet each month.
There is also a new Mexican Restaurant where Flores used to be.

AFTERNOON - Hontz Hall will be open for table games, gab fests, or relaxing in the Park. The Gas City and the Jonesboro Museums will be open for anyone who would like to tour them.

SUPPER - Noodles, mashed potatoes, corn, sliced tomatoes - YUM

Additional activities after supper. Trivia games about our high school years. There will also be a Concert in the Park with a band playing songs from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

We need to know if you are coming so we know how much food to prepare. There is no cost for the reunion. If you want to make a donation, that is fine, but it is not required. Also, if you have not completed your questionnaire, please do so and mail back to one of the following.
