Aerographers Mate, First Class (Weatherman) Served aboard USS Antietam CVS 36 for 26 months; Served at the US Naval Weather Service, The Pentagon, Washington D.C. for 13 months.

U.S. Army National Guard, Middletown, N.Y Basic Training; Ft. Dix, OCS - Bronx N.Y. Trained at West Point with Special Forces Unit, during the Viet Nam era.

Joined medical lab unit as a private, attended OCS and rose through the ranks to eventually become the Commanding Officer of that same unit as a Lieutenent Colonel. I remained with that unit for 22 years and gave the closing speech at its' deactivation in 1992. I was the doping control officer in the 1980 olympics at Lake Placid where my photo of the winning goal by the US against the Soviets on feb 22, 1980 is shown in the museum. I was lucky and served virtually of of my time in peacetime but was ready to go in Desert Storm with my unit.

Enlisted in the U.S. Navy March 1969 for four years during the Vietnam war. Honorably discharged at rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class Aviation Machinist Mate. Moved to Meridian, MS and enlisted in the Mississippi Air National Guard as a Staff Sergeant serving in the 153rd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron for ten years. Retired and residing in Meridian, MS with my Wife Donna after 42 years of government service, where I own and operate my small business.

I was a trauma surgeon in Vietnam in 1968 not long after the Tet Offensive. I was the officer in charge of mass Things. It was my decision who lived, who died, who went first, who went last. I personally was involved in approximately 200 surgeries. Frankly, that changed my whole life!

I was drafted in July 1967 and got a direct commission in the Army's Medical Srervice Corps in March 1968. Served into December 1970 (in Vietnam from December 1968 through early December 1970). Won the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Mark graduated from ROTC at City College and served two years in the Army as a Lieutenant in the Quarter Master Corps, and was stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany. He served the Army Reserves, and retired with the rank of Major.
