Attended Basic Combat Training(BCT) in May of 2003, Deployed to Iraq as a Combat Engineer(12B) from Germany in 2003, and stayed until July of 2004. Worked as a Fire Team Leader, and Squad Leader during second deployment in 2006-2007 to Fallujah, Iraq. Commanded a Route Clearance Squad in 2008-2009, in Ramadi, Iraq. Served as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Jackson, SC from 2010-2013. Medically Retired from the US Army, due to injuries sustained in combat and training, effective 30 April 2013.

After Boot Camp in San Diego California and Aircraft Maintenance and Repair school in Memphis TN. I was assigned to the Naval Weapons Evaluation Facility in Albquerque NM. From there I was assigned as the Detachment Airframes shop supervisor for Early Warning Squadron VAW111 aboard the USS Coral Sea. We provided radar early warning to jet fighters during bombing raids off the coast of Viet Nam from Jan. 1972 to Jan 1973. On that tour aircraft from the Coral Sea mined the harbour at Haiphong in May of 1972 to cut off supply ships coming into North Vietnam. After returning to the USA I spend a few months stationed in San Diego and was discharged as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (E-5).
