| Favorite School Memory | My most vivid.Jim Anderson,Art Shipman,Ron Lyons,Paul Shonberger and I skiped school at Meadowbrook and went to the beach in 6th grade (spring break college GIRLS.....Yeah Man).Everybody but Anderson and I chickend out.We were just about to cross A1A on our bikes in front of Bahia Mar.I'm in the lead here comes a concrete truck.He blows his horn and hits his brakes.A car behind him goes to his left and hits Jimmy Anderson. Jim wasnt killed but it tore up his bike.I was hurt the worse.I landed on all fours in swim trunks.The pavement eat me up.The concrete truck was Ready Mix Concrete Co driven by Pete Horn.My dad drove a truck for Ready Mix to. Pete was on the radio to dispatch telling them to get police,ambulance and dad here quick.All the drivers in there cabs heard it for 20 miles including my dad. Dad told them not to call Mom he would go and get her asap.Just told Pete to take care of us an get help.It was on the way.Pete grabbed Jim and me like we were rag dolls an ran to Bahia Mar.He was a hero to anybody that saw what he did. I hope he's still kickin.Mom an Dad are long gone. Mr Anderson got there just about the same time as my folks.Why they all didnt go in one car I dont know.Funny thing was we all wound up at Broward Gen.
