Served 22 years in United States Navy. Served on USS KittyHawk and was in Indian Ocean when the Ayotollah Komeini took our embassy people in Iran in 1979. Served in Guantanamo Bay Cuba and later as the Command Chief at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (NATO) in Mons Belgium. Saw the fall of the Berlin Wall and was there when the Warsaw Pact came apart.

Enlisted a year after high school & served 4 years. Returned to Cruces and then re-entered the Air Force as a critical care nurse. Career included deployments to Iraq & Afghanistan. Also had the privilege of participating in humanitarian missions to Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. It was an absolutely fabulous experience and I served with and for some of the most outstanding patriots in our great nation. God bless all our troops!
