Field of Heroes 9-11 10th Anniversay Memorial

Few can deny what a stunning display of flags graced Marcellus from Memorial Day to Olde Home Days. Being the tenth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks on America, the Marcellus Girl's Lacrosse Club and local American Legion
Post 297 would like to repeat such a display to honor not only our veterans and active armed forces, but also all our first responders including police, firemen, and EMT's.

The display will take place from September 3rd -September 12th at 31 North Street, Marcellus (the home of Mike and Diana Bird).

On September 11, 2011 at 12:30 PM there will be a ceremony to commemorate that fateful day in America's history. The public is invited to walk amongst the display and appreciate the sacrifice of those honored there.

We need your help to make this yet another grand display and to honor those who gave and
continue to give so much to preserve our way of life.

Those wishing to purchase a flag may do so by filling out an order form for a flag in honor of a veteran, active military, or first responder (past or present). On September 12th the flags may be taken home by the sponsor and flown there.

The 3rd Annual Tom E. Kuss Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, September 12, 2009.

The 2008 tournament raised $5,000 for local summer camp scholarships and new benches for the softball fields in Marcellus park. Thank you to all who participated!
