Served in the United States Air Force at Francis E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, WY from 1987 to 1991. At the end of my active duty enlistment, I transferred full time to the Wyoming Air National Guard and served an additional 6 years.

Larry M. Chaney

Navy, 11 Years
Served in Norfolk,Va for 8 years, before transferring to Naval Station, San Diego in 2008. Overall, I deployed three times, which includes deployments to South America, Middle East (Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom), which included Turkey, SOH, Bahrain, etc. European deployment preceeded this via deployment to Europe (including France, Italy, Croatia, Spain, Turkey, Malta, Palma, etc.). Lastly, South America (Rio..., Chile, and Peru). I was everything in tbksd years, from a deck seaman for 2 1/2, to Intellogebce, as well as my primary mos as quartermaster (nautical and tactical navigation). Ships I served on primarily were the USS Nassau (LHA-4, decommissioned now), as well as the USS Makin Island, LHD-8 hybrid carrier). I served exemplary, and am very proud of my professional, dedicated contribution in serving in the military. It paved the way for me finishing a communications and technology degree, as well as my current masters I'm literally in the middle of completing (just 7 classes left, yay).

Venetia M. Stanko (Dowell)
Class of 1979
Army, 20+ Years
Venetia was a Helicopter Avionic Mechanic and Airborne Paratrooper assigned to the 82nd Airborne division for 18 years. She has completed over 95 static line jumps, she served 3 tours of duty in the Republic of Korea. She has served in the Gulf War and in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Venetia achieved the rank of First Sergeant and recently retired from the Army after 22+ years of service. She currently lives in Atlatnta, Ga.

Our Labrae High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Labrae High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
