Inducted into the US Army in Pittsburgh PA, and completed Basic and AIT training at Fort Dix, NJ; trained as a heavy truck/tank recovery operator. Received additional training at the NCOES Transportation Acadamy at Fort Eustis, VA and was promoted to SP4 (DEC of '72). Assigned to HQ MTMC at Bailey's Crossroads, VA and attached to 3rd Infantry, Fort Myer, VA; I was the command staff driver, and document courier that assisted transportation needs of a Two (2) Star Army General, a Rear Admirial, and several Colonels. I was released (PCS) at Fort Belevior, VA in JUN 1975 after three years of service at the rank of SP5.
