Has Hull School always been Tigers. I had a pair of gym shorts from 6th grade that said "Bearcats."
I attended Hull Elementary School on Territorial Road in Benton Harbor, Michigan, from 2nd grade through 6th grade - from September 1955 until June 1960. Afterwards My family moved to Columbus, Georgia where I was originally from. During time there, my teachers were Mrs. Applebee- 2nd grade, Mrs. Kaiser - 3rd grade, Mr. Sherencil - 4th grade, Mrs. Brown - 5th grade, Mrs. Taylor - 6th grade, and the principal was Mr. Foster. I have forgotten most of my classmates' names, but some were Alice Eubanks, Rosemary Fardello, Linda Bickers, Dennis Napier, Larry Crowder, and Deloris Tomlinson; and Dennis Tibbs and Bobby Kessinger and Johnny Covington were a grade below me. I lived on Berg Street in Benton Heights for 5 years before moving. At one time, my house was accidentally painted the wrong color of pink...I was referred to as the boy who lived in the pink house. I remember the Michigan snows, got caught in a Blizzard in December 1959 while shoveling people's driveways for some spending money. I loved that school, kids were nice to me there. When I moved away I got bullied badly for years and begged my parents to move back up there . I grew up to become a 5th and 6th grade teacher for 38 years and have lived in western Kentucky for 48 years. Is there anyone that remembers Hull School in those days? I sometimes went by my stepfather's last name in those days as Jerry Cross. I was on the Benton Harbor Sox Little League team in the summer of 1960. Contact me at my email address of galdridge3gjk@aol.com or find me on Facebook at Gerald A. Aldridge (McHenry, Kentucky.) I would love to hear from someone.
