Mascot "Big Red" Information

HISD is refurbishing the Bulldog Mascot, "Big Red", and would like some information about when the Mascot was purchased. We know that it was purchased in the early 1960's. We have heard that there was a fund raising project and that the students donated money for the purchase. The Mascot first appears in the yearbook in 1964-65; but, we believe that it was purchased in 1962 or 1963. We would love to have any information that you have on this project.
