Hello, My name is Kaylee Paul and I am currently a senior at Hargrave High School. This year I have had the great honor of being chosen as one of ten Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholars in the state. Along with being admitted to this incredible program, I am required to facilitate a community service project in my home town. After much consideration and speaking to students, I have chosen that over the course of this school year, a 'service garden' will be constructed at Hargrave High School in which fruits and vegetables will be grown by students and donated to local families in need.
A 'service garden' in its simplest form, is. Garden that promotes service for the community in more ways than one. It is there to promote the betterment of the community as a whole and agricultural awareness as well. I have named the project, Vegetation for Education with hopes to serve the community by teaching students agricultural awareness, getting them involved in something they can watch grow and be proud of, bringing some new beauty to our high school and by giving back to local families with some fresh produce.
My school administrators, fellow students, and I are all very excited for what the future has in store for us and this project and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in assisting us by donating anything you can. I have attached a copy of our donation flyer as well as a link to the website for more information on my scholarship program. Anything you would be able to do would be greatly appreciated.
