Cary D. Rutherford Class of 1985
Marine Corps, 4 Years 3 Landing Support Battalion Job included the taking over of beaches, Shipping docks and Airports. We are the first to land on every beach. We are also the only ones in the USMC to have a designator patch. It was a red patch worn on our Cover and on the sides of both knees. Our motos were 1) first in last out . 2) First to go last to know. and 3) There is no party like a shore party. Semper Fi Do or Die.

James Ray Huddleston Class of 1961
Air Force, 20+ Years After GCHS I enlisted in the A.F. in Jan '62 after basic I was a Lifeguard at Lackland AFB. Tx. I was transferred to the AF Honor Guard at Bolling AFB in Wash D.C. I was honored to be an Honor Guard for many dignitaries funerals during my nearly 4 years. I left to get a degree to pursue my goal to become an AF Pilot. I attended 1 1/2 years at Garden City JUCO . After completing my degree at Washburn Univ it was on to Pilots training. My first assignment was as an O2 Pilot in VN. Next as a B-52 Pilot. at WAFB, in Michigan. My first staff job was as Flying Safety Officer which included investigating AF Aircraft crashes. During my last 17 years we were stationed in Texas 2x's, California 2x's Michigan, Alabama & Louisiana. I retired in '87 & we have been in Colo Spgs, Colo since. Nice as we are close enough to easily drive back to Tribune.
