I was drafted into the Army on December 2, 1969 and served on active duty until November 1971. My duty stations were Ft. Gordon GA., Ft. Sill, OK and Camp Page, Korea. In June 1977, I enlisted in the Army Reserve. My assignments included Platoon Sergeant, Operations NCO, ADP Operations Sergeant, Detachment Sergeant, First Sergeant and Sergeant Major. My last reserve assignment was the G-6 Sergeant Major for the 89th Regional Support Command in Wichita, KS from February 1999 through August 2002. In September 2002 I retired after 30 years of service.
In February of 2003 I was called out of retirement and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Bagram Air Base Afghanistan from February through December 2003.
After I returned from deployment I was assigned to a reserve Defense Information Systems Agency unit in Gettysburg, PA until my second retirement in February 2010.

I retired at the end of this assignment as a Lt. Col. I have approx 5000hrs of flying time, most of it in helicopters. My family and I thorougly enjoyed my Air Force career. We couldn't think of a more fulfilling way of life.
