Graduated from ROTC (Minnesota State at Mankato) in 1987 & entered the Active Duty Army as a 2LT until 1990. Served on Active Duty CG from 1990 - 1993, then entered the Coast Guard Reserve. Presently a Commander (0-5), serving as the Senior Reserve Officer assigned to the Marine Safety Unit in Paducah, KY.

The 25th Infantry Division was dispatched to handle conflict and security throughout the Pacific including Viet Nam, Guam, Johnston Island and others. Promoted to Sergeant. Supervised an undercover detachment and helped organize the first Correctional Custody Facility (an alternative to the Brigg) at Schofield Barracks.
