According to the Mayan prophecies, the world is coming to an end in December 2012. This could very well be your last chance to see your old classmates from Franklin Regional High School, so you know you don't want to miss it. Our 25th reunion will be on Saturday, August 25th at Newhouse Park in Delmont. It's going to be a relaxing, low-key, laid-back, picnicky kind of event. We'll start sometime in the afternoon, and wrap up around 8:30 PM or so as we have to clear out of the park by 9:00 PM. We'll have the pavillion as well as a big tent, so no worries about the sun roasting your delicate skin. We'll have some entertainment too (trust me, it won't involve me singing anything). Want to bring your favorite camp/lawn chair? Please do! Want to bring some volleyball/softball/ultimate frisbee gear and have a pickup game? Please do! Want to be like Beamer and park your butt in a chair and drink beer the whole time? That's cool too! Speaking of beer, there will be beer...and wine...and pop...and water. Oh, and we'll also have dinner as well! (If nothing else, make sure you're there to toss some groceries down your neck!) We're going to keep this "Grown-ups" only (chronologically speaking, of course), but certainly bring your spouse/significant other along since we probably don't know all the embarassing stories about what you've done since High School, and we really want to hear them. We're looking into block hotel rates for the Super 8 and Holiday Inn Express in Delmont (more information soon!). There will also be an informal get-together Friday the 24th at Rick's on 22. Ask me why I didn't get carded because I still look as young as I did in High School, and I might even buy you a round. This is a preliminary note so that you can "save the date", and more information (including cost), as well as a formal invite, will be forthcoming as we get closer to the date and finalize all the details.
