Went to the Reserves in '81, finished degree at CU-Boulder earned active dty commission in '85, retired a a Colonel in '12. Earned a Bronze Star in Afghanistan and later one in Iraq... . Proud to have been part of something bigger than myself and feeling that I made a difference... .

I enlisted in April of my senior year and left for Parris Island in September. I was stationed at Camp Geiger (Camp Lejeune) with Weapons Company 3rd, Bn. 8th Marines as a mortarman. I saw a lot of Europe and the Med. and was stationed in Beirut, Lebanon with the Multinational Peacekeeping force.
