David Paxton
Class of 1968
Navy, 6 Years
David Paxton actually quit High School at the end of his Sophomore year to Join the Navy and go to fight in the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Rich, DD-820. He served in Vietnam in 1968, the year he would have graduated.
He obtained his GED in 1996 as a requisite to his first electrical engineering job. He was also awarded a High School Diploma by the Allen East School Board.
He now resides near LaFayette, Ohio. In the Allen Easy School District.Where he founded the LaFayette~Jackson Veterans Organization. He was as the "Mystery Sailor" Known in LaFayette as the "Silent Sentry" that stood guard in front of the Civil War Monument after vandals desecrated it in 2005. See Ada Herald Article here...
