September 9, 2010 TO: The Members of Eastern Guilford High School's Class of 1980 FROM: Flay Blalock and the Reunion Committee We will be celebrating our 30th Year Reunion this year on Friday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 23rd. We have already had a tremendous response from folks excited about getting together. We hope you are looking forward to this reunion as much as we are and will make plans to join us! Please fill out the attached Checklist to help us know how many folks to expect and plan for at each event. Beyond getting a general headcount for those activities, the only money we need up front is for dinner Saturday night. Now for the details. . . Friday, October 22nd Tour of the New High School Gathering time: 6:15 p.m. in the front of the new school's main entrance Cost: FREE. Details: One of the current Assistant Principals will walk us through the new facility answering our questions as we go. Afterwards, there will be time for tail-gating or grabbing a hot dog at the Booster's Club Concession Stand Football Game - Eastern Guilford vs. Western Alamance Game time: 7:30 p.m. Cost: $6.00 per person Adullt Social at Karen Greeson Pegram's home Start time: ~10:00 p.m. (or whenever the game is over) Cost: FREE - Light snacks will be provided, however BYOB (bring your own beverages). Karen and her family have graciously offered the use of their home for this gathering. Directions: follow the link to get MapQuest directions from EGHS to Karen's home -Directions to Karen's (Park in the field where the signs indicate, then follow the Tiki Torches to Karen's.) We will also have maps at the game to handout showing how to get from the school to Karen's - see Flay or Karen at the game. *** If it rains hard enough to cancel the game - the gathering at a Karen's house will also be canceled. Saturday, October 23rd Dinner at Catharine Wilder Cooper's home, 2030 Colony Road, Gibsonville (Park in the field where the signs indicate, then follow the Tiki Torches down the driveway to Catharines's home) Get MapQuest directions to Catharine's Arrival & Registration: 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. BBQ Pork and Chicken Dinner: 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (Catered by Stamey's Barbecue, featuring barbecue pork and chicken, baked beans, slaw, rolls, hush puppies, peach cobbler and ice tea) Program/Special Recognitions: 8:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Music/Dancing/Socializing: 8:30 p.m. -11:00 p.m. Details: Cost: $17.50 per person ($35.00 per couple) Attire: Casual (blue jeans, etc.) If you care to enjoy beverages other than the water and iced tea provided, please BYOB.
