I joined the Army June 1975 upon graduation from High School. I served in various capacities as well as on numerous assignments. As a qualified Jumpmaster, Airborne Ranger, I served as a Drill Sergeant 1981-1984, Fort Benning Georgia, Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg NC. I was assigned to Garlstedt Germany, deployed, and participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I was the Chief Instructor at Georgia Military College, the State, and Brigade Sergeant Major, 1st Region ROTC with responsibility for the Army's ROTC training programs for all colleges and universities in Georgia, Florida, and Puerto Rico. I served as a Battalion Command Sergeant Major in the 82nd Airborne Division and a Brigade Command Sergeant Major for the 1st Combat Training Brigade, Fort Jackson SC. My last assignment was as the Garrison and Installation Command Sergeant Major of Fort Monroe Virginia until March 2006, retirement. I currently work on Fort Monroe as the Director for Human Resources(Military).

Enlisted in 1984 as Subsistense Operations Specialist(Food Supply for those who don't know). Ended up as a Fitness Center Director last 6 years before retirement. Lived and toured many new lands and cultures. I wouldn't change a thing if I had a chance to do it all over again. I am currently in Federal Service working on my second retirement. It has been quite a ride! I never imagined myself retiring from the Military when in High School. I guess I just took one enlistment at a time.

In 1981 I received my Master of Arts in Human Resources and Management from Pepperdine Univ. Retired as a Major and currently teaching AFJROTC at Oak Ridge H. S. in Orlando, FL for the past 18 years. Married 38 years to Eleanore Davis Graham. We have 4 marvelous children. Alicia 36, Janelle 34, Kayla 30 and La-Goge Donovan 24.

I joined the military in 1980. I attended Basic Training at Fort Leonardwood Missouri and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia. My military occupational specialty was supply(76C). My first duty assignment was
512th Maintenance Company in Mannheim Germany. I had other tours of duty at Fort Bliss, Texas and Geissen Germany.

Maurice served with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1992-1997, as an instructor at the Airborne School in Ft. Benning, GA and was one of the first soldiers to cross the Iraqi border at the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom in March 2003. Maurice currently resides in Albany, GA and is pursuing a Middle Grades Education degree at Albany State University. He is married and has two children.

Upon graduation, Maurice enlisted in the USAF and spent 1 year at Hickam AFB. In 1991, he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed with 27th Eng Bn at Ft. Bragg, NC. He was later assigned to the US Army Airborne School as an instructor. In 2001, he reclassified to 19D Cavalry Scout and was stationed at Ft. Stewart, GA with the 3rd ID where he participated in OIF 1. He later joined the GA National Guard and obtained the rank of SSG. His awards include 1 Bronze star, 3 Army commendation medals with valor, 7 Army achievement medals, the Master Parachutist badge, the Pathfinder badge, the Jungle expert badge, the Cavalry stetson and spurs, and the coveted "Blackhat".
