WiseSmith Entertainment expands group with Lynchburg Native still at the helm
WiseSmith Management Group is located in beautiful Louisville Kentucky; nestled in between Louisville and Southern IN along the Ohio River Banks. WiseSmith is headed up by Doc Smith Founder/CEO, graduate of E C Glass High School (terry smith 78) & LU (1982) in Lynchburg Va.
WiseSmith is poised for great success, and it took according to Doc Smith many influences of years past, to the present to make all come together in 2008.
The name 'doc' was coined years ago by several in Nashville while developing young artist. He holds five earned degrees including a PHD. His Associate degree was earned while at Liberty University, where he attributes a lot of inspiration in music from good friends like Robby Hinner, and Mark Lowery.
Doc recalls in 1996 he & Mark Lowery were back stage together at the Grand Ole Opry, & he said to Mark, "…it is time to make a mark in this business", & mark he has made in the region. Mark also has made an unbelievable mark in the Gospel music industry. Doc said, '...Mark Lowery is brilliant! He knows how to perform great vocals & know how to market the product, truly one of the best in the businesses.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – April 15, 2008 – Rising country performer Dan Varner along with WiseSmith Management today announced that Dan Varner has released his brand new single "Back In My Life" off of DVB Records.
Playing at 4th Street Live in Louisville, Kentucky and other major national music festivals, Dan just completed a successful four- year regional tour, opening for such artists as Blake Shelton, Craig Morgan, Josh Gracin, John Michael Montgomery, Little Texas, Taylor Swift and Jason Michael Carroll. In 2007 Dan’s fan base grew dramatically, as did his recognition in the country music industry, providing the ideal time to put out his first single.
The new EP "From Within" co-produced with Dan's Manager/Producer Doc Smith (1978 E C Glass Graduate) and engineered by Tyler Morrison (Liquid Sound Studios) is proving to bring out the very best in Dan's amazing vocals and song writing abilities.
Dan has been in the studio since July 2007 in between tour dates working on seven original tracks for his EP. Dan's rich baritone vocals are highlighted in every track from the up tempo single "Back Into My Life," which starts out slow, ballad-like but takes you into a wonderful Austin City groove with acoustic guitar and fiddle leading the way.
