The reunion committee is completing plans for the Conway High School Class of 1964 50-year reunion for October 3-4. Activities include attending the CHS homecoming football game on Friday night, a tour and assembly at the old high school on Saturday morning, and a sixties party at the Old Gin Event Center on Saturday night.
Seating will be available at the football game and the class will be recognized, but the reunion ticket price will not include admission to the game. Conway residents (65+) with a valid driver’s license can obtain a free senior citizen athletic pass from the athletic office, which never expires.
You will not want to miss the assembly on Saturday morning as it will include performances by some of class of 1964’s finest talent. We are still looking for “stars” if you would like to perform, particularly anyone able to play a musical instrument. There will also be an “open mic” for those of you who may want to share something.
Tables will be set up and food will be served at the Saturday night event, but it will not be a formal sit down dinner. There will be a DJ playing sixties music, and a video commemorating our class with a special tribute to those no longer with us. A special handout is being prepared compiling information about each graduate. If you have not sent in your survey and want to be included, please send as soon as possible.
We have determined that the actual cost will be approximately $45 per person. However, we don’t want anyone to decline attending based simply on the cost. With that in mind, if you want to send a little extra money as you pay for attending, please send your check to Jolinda Bryant, 136 Oliver Street, Conway, AR 72034. This will help defray the cost for those who might not otherwise attend. Any money left over could be held for future reunions.
