Navy, 8 Years
Joined the USN in September,1961 with NROTC scholarship., Miami U. of Ohio. Goal was to avoid be drafted by the U.S. Army and the Vietnam war. No heroics. One medal/ribbon that was a joke: National Defense AKA I was alive in '65 AKA The Breathing Badge. Not exactly 8 years. Close enough for federal government work. Then it was kill commies: Guantanamo Bay Naval Base...GITMO. Commissioned Ensign, June, 1965. Honorable Discharge with rank of full LT., 3 September 1965. Transferred routinely: Western Europe; Thule AFB Greenland; Virgina Beach, Virginia. Who reads this sort of thing?
