Director Ron Quintanal
With Guest Conductors:
George DeGregori, Pat Castle,
Ron Bobb, Steve Hendee, & Cary Nasatir
Our Organization began in 2004 with a joint reunion of the first 5 CVHS Classes of 1958-1962. At that reunion the band was created and played and the combined classes donated $8,000 to the building of the CV Performing Arts Center. Since, that initial reunion, the Alumni Band has met, and performed, one weekend each Oct. In 2007 a jazz band was added. They have donated musical instruments, sheet music and over $12,000 to the high school.
We know you will enjoy the performance!
FREE CONCERT--CVHS ALUMNI CONCERT & JAZZ BANDS
WHEN: Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 1:30-4:00pm
WHERE: CV Center for the Arts
Eugene Graves, CV High's 1st instrumental instructor and band director, WILL BE CONDUCTING HIS FINAL FREE CONCERT. In 2004, at a class reunion, a handful of alumni decided to jam for fun and that was the start of the Alumni Bands. They of course, asked "Mr. Graves" to be their band director. This will be his 8th and final year with us.
The Alumni Band has grown from the handful jamming to 50-60 members gathering annually from all over the country. In 2008, the Jazz Band began to meet and today it is an 18-20 piece "big band" with a sound to match. Two years ago, a few current talented CVHS students started playing in our concert.
The CVHS Alumni Band is performing a fundraising concert to benefit the CVHS instrumental music program and the CV Arts Foundation. All donations are welcome. Some may wish to become a sponsor, contact Mark Eisenberg at 510/886-2577 or mark@markeisenberglaw.com.
Please, join former classmates and community members as they honor Gene Graves, teacher, mentor and friend.

CVHS Athletics Needs Help!
Hello CVHS Alumni!
We’re writing to ask for your help because CVHS’s athletics program is in danger of disappearing next year. There’s no money at all in the 2010 school district budget for athletics, and if we don’t raise $265,000 by June 15th, sports will be eliminated next year.
The CVHS Athletic Boosters are turning to you CVHS alums to help make sure that the sports you enjoyed playing or watching don’t become extinct. Can you help?
We need donations from CVHS alums in any amount. Our website has the details --
http://www.cvhsathleticboosters.org.
Do you own a business? We are looking for sponsorships for our upcoming “Run to Play 5K/10k †which is happening on Sunday, June 13.
* Gold Sponsorship - $1000 - sponsor's name will be on the racers' bibs
* Green Sponsorship - $250 or more - sponsors will be on the back of the Run to Play T-shirts
* White Sponsorship - $249 and below - sponsors will be acknowledged on posters displayed at the run
Please contact James at vp@cvhsathleticboosters.org for sponsorship opportunities and levels.
The Boosters needs your funds, energy, and ideas to meet our goal. Please support the CVHS students of today, so they can play tomorrow!
Thanks so much,
Liz Oettel and Sharon Travers
