Joined the Navy in 69 as a Seaman Recruit during the Viet Nam war. Finished boot camp and Interior Communications Technician training in San Diego followed by Naval Nuclear Power training in Bainbridge Md. Completed prototype training at S1C in Windsor Locks CT and then Sub School in New London CT. I served 7 deterrent patrols in the USS Ulysses S. Grant (SSBN 631) reaching the rank of IC1(SS) (E6). I became an instructor at the Fleet Ballistic Missile Training Center in Charleston SC. During my shore duty I complete my bachelors degree and was accepted into the Officer Candidate Program. I received a commission as Ensign in the Naval Supply Corps. I was stationed on the USS Plunger (SSN 595) followed by shore duty at the Naval Supply Center Puget Sound, Bremerton WA and then finishing my career at the Naval Supply Depot Long Beach CA as LtJg (SS). I had and interesting and varied time in the Navy and it was the best job I ever had.

Currently I am Senior Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. I have officially go over 20 in May and have no desire to retire till they make me or stop having fun. I have been on two Carriers and one Destroyer where we were involved in the original serge on Iraq. Currently I serve in Richmond VA as the Assistant Chief Recruiter. I am proud of serving my country, only regret I have is that I didn't join sooner.
