OK Gang, here are the details.
· Confirmed to date: 66 (list of attendees below this email) and expect a few more to hopefully reach 75 or more.
· Staying at hotel: 12 rooms reserved last time I checked, but I have spoken to others that plan to stay there.
· Schedule and highlights:
o Friday Night: Gigi’s pizza night
§ Gather at Alden outdoor beach bar at 5 pm (happy hour pricing and specials for us for both days)
§ Pizza delivered around 6:30 (cost = $15 per person)
§ Whole evening is for chat, catching up, dance in the sand if you want
§ Beach bar and large outdoor area with tables and chairs
§ Beach bar closes at 11 pm
§ After 11, on your own (stay at the bar / beach area, party in rooms, go to other beach bars within walking distance that are open till 2 am
o Saturday
§ I will lead sunrise 5K run starting at 6:45 am (just kidding!!)
§ 11 am to 4 pm – hang out around beach bar, pool, beach…if you are local, bring beach umbrella, chairs, etc. There is a snack shack adjacent to the bar that serves burgers, sandwiches, etc.
§ Gather at Alden outdoor beach bar at 5 pm.
§ Sunset group photo at 5:20 (sunset is 5:40).
§ Catered dinner outside on lawn area adjacent to beach at 6:30 (cost is $30 per person)…dinner is tentatively Pipo’s Cuban style with pulled pork, chicken, black beans and rice, salad, plantains and flan for desert.
§ We will likely have a guy on a guitar with music, Buffet and other popular tunes for easy listening.
· Our entire event is outdoors and there is obviously risk, but we will deal with it.
· Both nights are open to all, but if you don’t participate (pay) for the dinner events, the Gigi’s pizza will only be served to those that paid and the Saturday dinner will be roped off to those that paid while dinner is being service from 6:30 to 8:00.
What you need to do:
o If you are not on the list below and plan to attend or vice-versa, please let me know.
o Send a check to Robert Beard at my office address below. If for some reason you later cancel, I will return the funds if you give me notice by noon on Friday, November 7th.
o Please indicate on the check how many attending and on which day so I can keep things straight. If you send me a check for $30 with no notation, I won’t know if this is 2 people on Friday or 1 for Saturday…notation example: Friday (2 x $15); Sat (1x $30)
o Lastly, if you are attending the Friday Gigi’s event, send me by email your 2 most popular 2 option pizza combinations. Examples: pepperoni and sausage, ham and pineapple, etc. If I don’t get a lot of feedback, you may be eating what I like!!
